Organic Beets: “Cylindra” / “Formanova” (2 g ~100 seeds) Description:
Our Organic Heirloom “Cylindra” (also known as “Formanova”) Beets date back to the 1880s. They are dark red, cylindrical and grow 6-9″ long. This beet resembles the size and shape of an oversized carrot or sweet potato. Perfect for slicing, peeling, canning and dehydrating. The leaves are sweeter than other varieties which make excellent “Greens”!
Plant “Cylindra” beets closer than normal beets as they grow more narrow. Roots tend to push up out of the ground as they grow.
All of Our Seeds are 100% Heirloom, Non-Hybrid, Non-GMO, Open-Pollinated and USDA Certified Organic Seeds.

Planting Tips For Beet Seeds:
Beet seeds can be planted in early spring or midsummer. Soak seeds overnight in a damp towel before planting for improved germination. Plant beet seeds 1” apart and thin weakest seedlings to desired spacing. Keep soil evenly moist to prevent beet roots from getting woody. For longer harvest, stagger beet plantings every 2-3 weeks.
